Bayard Gordon, 88, of Montevideo died September 7, 1996 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 12, 1996 at 1:30 P.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Rev. Leo Deitemeyer will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 8:00 P.M. There will also be visitation at the church for one hour before services.
Bayard Inman Gordon was born August 6, 1908 at Clarkfield, MN the son of Arne and Anne (Selness) Gordon. He attended school and grew to adulthood there. Bayard was united in marriage with Iona Baseman July 9, 1931 at Sioux Falls, MN. They made their home in Montevideo. Bayard was a salesman all of his life. He moved to Luther Haven Nursing Home in May of this year.
He is survived by his wife, Iona; three children: LaDonna Eliason and her husband Robert of Anderson, IN, William Gordon and his wife Patricia of Montevideo, MN, and Nancy Bakker and her husband Edward of Bloomington, MN; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Johnson of Minneapolis, MN; and three nephews: Roger Gordon, Bill Johnson, and Steve Johnson.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Bayard Gordon, Jr.; and one brother, Arthur.
