Bernadine Stanek, of Milan, died on Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Ortonville Area Health Services in Ortonville, MN at the age of 74. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at Big Bend Lutheran Church with Rev. Jay Grave officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Bernadine Joan (Rucktaeschel) Stanek was born on August 11, 1934 in Redwood Co., MN to Clarence and Evelyn (Pickett) Rucktaeschel. She attended Wabasso Public Schools and graduated from Wabasso High School in 1952. On February 11, 1953 she was united in marriage to Adrian Jenniges. She lived in the Morgan and Wabasso areas and worked at the Wabasso Health Care Center. On November 19, 1975 she was united in marriage to John Stanek in Huron, SD. She lived and farmed in the Wanda and Lamberton area and worked as a bartender in Wanda. In 1983 she moved to the Milan, MN area with her husband John. She was a member of Big Bend Lutheran Church and its women's groups. She enjoyed gardening, baking, fishing, cooking, camping, and had a love for animals, neighbors and her lake friends. She is survived by eight children: Stacy Stanek (and Tami Zenk) of Milan; Adriane (and David) Harper of Montevideo; Janet (and Bruce) Erickson of Raymond, MN; Lois (and Dan) Gahler of Madelia, MN; Myrland Jenniges of Tyler, MN; Wayne (and Cindy) Jenniges of New London, MN; Roger (and Patti) Jenniges of Springfield, MN and Russ Jenniges of Spicer, MN; 25 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two brothers: Kenneth Rucktaeschel (and Elna) of Morris, MN; Duane (and Mary Ann) Rucktaeschel of Avon, SD; a sister, Geraldine (and Delbert) Kruse of Stillwater, MN as well as by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Stanek and by a brother, Gary Rucktaeschel.
