Bernice Fossum, of Montevideo, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 94. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Rev. Diane Odermann will officiate and interment will be at Saron Lutheran Cemetery, rural Montevideo. Visitation will be held on Friday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Bernice Irene Fossum was born November 7, 1913 at Wegdahl, MN the daughter of Ole and Mary (Erickson) Fossum. She was baptized and confirmed at Saron Lutheran Church and attended school in District 15. She moved to Montevideo in 1925 and to a home just west of town in 1945. Bernice moved to Burnsdale Apartments in April of this year. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, flowers, Sunday afternoon drives and animals. She is survived by one sister, Rose Olson of Montevideo, MN and nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; six brothers: Joseph, Irwin, Walter, Harry, Bennie, and Thurman Fossum; and two sisters: Myrtle Thulin and Lilly Olson.
