Beth Christiansen, formerly of Maynard, died on Friday, January 2, 2009 in Edinburg, TX at the age of 71. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 1:30 P.M. at the Maynard Lutheran Church in Maynard with Rev. Mary Hovland officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before services on Saturday. Beth LaVonne (Harbour) Christiansen was born on April 4, 1937 in Montevideo, MN to William and Dorothy (Curtis) Harbour. She grew up on the farm in Montevideo, MN and moved to Minneapolis, MN after she graduated from Maynard High School in 1955. On June 22, 1957 she was united in marriage to Robert Dale Christiansen in Maynard, MN. She lived in Coon Rapids, MN most of her married life, until moving to Fort Worth, TX in 1995 and later retiring to Mission, TX. Beth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed raising her children and volunteering at the school where her children attended. She kept up the tradition when the grandchildren came along. She loved volunteering at the Enchanted Valley Ranch retirement park where they lived. She is survived by her husband, Robert D. of Mission, TX; a daughter Susan (Ray) Barker of Spring Grove, MN; two sons: Robert W. (Yvonne) Christiansen of Sanford, NC and Charles (Jenny) Christiansen of Coon Rapids, MN; thirteen grandchildren: Heidi, Nathan, Carrie, Amber, Annie, Matt, John, Kaity, Mikayla, Ashley, Allie, Courtney and Brooke; three great-grandchildren: Brody, Brayden and Ayla; and two sisters: Doris (Richard) Smith of Mason City, IA and Mavis (James) Keilen of Mission, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents.
