Bette Lucille (Mills) Moen

Bette Moen, of Montevideo, died on Sunday, February 23, 1997 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 70.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 27, 1997 at 1:00 PM at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church in Hazel Run, MN with Rev. Cynthia Hopp officiating.  Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Granite Falls, MN.

Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening and with the family from  6:30 - 8 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Bette Lucille (Mills) Moen was born on May 7, 1926 in Lincoln, NE to Charles and Alma (DeWeese) Mills.  She moved to Granite Falls, MN as a child with her family and attended Granite Falls Schools. She was united in marriage to Raymond Moen on September 4, 1943 in Granite Falls, MN.  They lived in Albert Lea until the early 1960's, when they moved to the Montevideo, MN area.  She was a member of the Hazel Run Lutheran Church and enjoyed bingo, fishing, playing cards and being around family and friends.

She is survived by eleven children: Jean Hocum and her husband Daniel of Canby, MN, John Moen and his wife Clare of Tenstrike, MN, Jerry Moen and his wife Diane of Hazel Run, MN, Gary Moen of Boyd, MN, Donna Haneca and her husband Ray of Montevideo, MN, Vickie LaVoie and her husband Roger of Montevideo, MN, William Moen and his wife Becky of Pequot Lakes, MN,  Michael Moen and his wife Barb of Montevideo, MN, Thomas Moen and his wife Mary of Montevideo, MN, Robert Moen and his wife Lynn of Montevideo, MN, and Mark Moen of Montevideo, MN; 32 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond in 1984; two sons: Randy in 1991and Jackie in 1949; two sisters: Madaline Mills and LaVaughn Reinke; and two brothers:  Bill and Jack Mills.
