Betty Agre, of Montevideo, died on Friday, February 24, 2006 at her home in Copper Glen at the age of 78.
Memorial services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 1:30 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Donald S. McKee officiating. Visitation will be Monday with family present from 5 - 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Betty Jane (Weckwerth) Agre was born on January 11, 1928 in Grant County, MN to Ervin R. and Bertha (Brutlag) Weckwerth. She was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loveland, CO and attended schools in Herman, MN and Loveland, CO before graduating from Montevideo High School in 1945. In 1950 she was united in marriage to Edward Agre, Jr. at Bergen Lutheran Church and they farmed in Lac qui Parle County. She worked at Northwestern State Bank for 5 years and was employed by the Chippewa County Highway Department for 26 years before retiring in 1993. She served as an officer in the State-wide Highway Accountants Association. She had been a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church since 1974 and was active in circle and WELCA and was a Lac qui Parle Conference officer for 4 years. She enjoyed poetry, doing hardanger, ceramics, wood carving, cross stitch and loved a good joke.
She is survived by a daughter, Jan Enstad and her husband Dale of Montevideo; a son, Larry Agre and his wife Cynthia of Eden Prairie, MN; grandchildren: Nicole Anderson and her husband Joel, Ryan Agre and his wife Marcy, Nathan Agre and his wife Carla, Tristan Agre and his wife Adrienne, and Lacey Agre; great-grandchildren: Bryant and Emri Agre and Adam Anderson; a brother, Vernon Weckwerth and his wife Joanne of St. Paul, MN; her special dog, Josie; as well as by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Adam Albrecht.
