Betty (Allen) Hoaas

August 1, 1933 — May 3, 1993

Betty Hoaas, 59, of Montevideo died May 3, 1993 at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital in Montevideo.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 6, 1993 at 1:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Rev. Victor Ovrebo and Mr. Jay Dahlvang will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M.  There will also be visitation at the church for one hour before services on Thursday.

Betty Lou Allen was born August 1, 1933 at Montevideo, MN the daughter of William and Esther (Stockdale) Allen.  She grew to adulthood and attended rural school in the Montevideo area.  Betty was united in marriage with Oscar Hoaas August 21, 1949 at Montevideo where they continued to live.  She was a member of the  Ruth Circle at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Betty also enjoyed bowling and bird watching.

She is survived by her husband, Oscar; one daughter Monica Natzel and her husband Greg of Superior, WI; one son Mark of Montevideo, MN; four grandchildren: Jamie Lent, Jennifer Hoaas, Jarvis Hoaas, and one who is expected soon; two great-grandchildren; and four sisters: Fern Dirksen and her husband Ben of Clara City, MN, Violet Underwood of Montevideo, MN, Delores Johnson of Montevideo, MN, and Be Crosby of Alexandria, MN.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one grandson, Jery Lee Natzel; three brothers: Albert Allen, Daniel Allen, and Charles Allen; and two sisters: Phyllis Bergo and Eldora Michaels.
