Betty (Hinde) Osborne

Betty Osborne died Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 92.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church.  Pastor Sam Kautz will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church.

Betty Lea (Hinde) Osborne was born October 19, 1931 at LeMars, IA the daughter of Raymond and Florence (Penning) Hinde.  She graduated from LeMars High School in 1950.She was united in marriage with William Osborne on June 10, 1951 at Seney Methodist Church.  They made their home on the family farm in Iowa and had two children together.  In 1957, Bill and Betty moved to Montevideo, MN to be closer to Betty’s parents.  They lived on the farm until 1971 when they moved into Montevideo.  Betty worked at JcPenney for many years before retiring.  Betty was active at the United Methodist Church.  She was a 4-H leader and also enjoyed camping.  Betty was a very good seamstress and did clothing alterations for others.

She is survived by two children: David Osborne of Elysian, MN and Marilyn (Wes) Nelson of Willmar, MN; two grandchildren: Rebecca (Benjamin) Bernard and Patricia (David) Klecker; 4 great-grandchildren: Brayden, Berkleigh and Bristol Bernard and Harbor Pence, two step great-grandchildren: Lexie Klecker, Brendan Klecker; a brother, Max (Carol) Hinde of Montevideo; and a sister, Joanne Mortensen of Florida.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Bill.
