Betty Lou Johnson died Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 85.

Private family  services will be held at a later date. Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Chapel in Montevideo is in charge of the arrangements.

Betty Lou Ann (Lyngen) Johnson  was born December 10, 1930 at Willmar, MN the daughter of Sibert and Pearl (Muller) Lyngen.  She grew up in the Milan, MN area and graduated from Milan High School in 1948.  Betty Lou was united in marriage with Lee Johnson February 2, 1951 at Glenwood, MN.  They made their home in San Diego where she worked as a secretary for emergency medical services.  After retiring, they moved to Milan, MN in 1990.  She worked at the Sportsmen Inn in Montevideo for several years.  Lee died in 1997 and Betty Lou moved into Montevideo in 2005.  She enjoyed reading and doing crafts.

She is survived by two daughters: Vicki (James) McCall of Cottwood, CA and Patricia (Ricky) Brown - Hartman of Montevideo; two foster daughters: Susie McComas of Missouri and Dawn (Mark) Arborgast of San Diego; five grandchildren: Betty Lou Ross, Alan Price, Sarah (Skylar) Carpenter, Amanda McCall, and Joshua (Amber) Brown; numerous great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Gloria (Ken) Cokely of Rock, KS and Wanda (Kermit) Hermanson of Willmar, MN.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lee; two sons: David in infancy and Lee in 2015; a son-in-law, James Brown; a step-daughter, Terri Ross; and a foster daughter, Sandy Dexter.
