Beverly Moen, of Montevideo, died Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids at the age of 88.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Donald S. McKee will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church.
Beverly Adeline (Nelson) Moen was born March 18, 1934 in Chippewa County the daughter of Hilmer and Luella (Septon) Nelson. She was baptized and confirmed at Mandt Lutheran Church. She attended rural schools and later in life obtained her GED. She would later enroll at Granite Falls Vo-Tech and complete the CNA training. Bev was united in marriage with Everett Moen on September 1, 1956 at Mandt Lutheran Church. They farmed North of Montevideo and moved into Montevideo in the mid 1960's. She worked at Control Data for 12 years, at Trailways Café and Luther Haven, and was a home health care worker for 22 years.
Bev was a self-taught artist who was very talented and developed that talent into a business, Creative Crafts, which she co-operated for many years. She would also teach Folk Art painting in her home. Bev enjoyed needle work, sewing, knitting, painting and quilting in addition to many other crafts. Bev was also a fantastic cook and gardener. She was active at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with the quilters, the book group, and Dorcas Circle.
She is survived by a daughter, Brenda (Michael) Braulick of St. Cloud; a son, Mark Moen of Echo; grandchildren: Justin (Candace) Braulick, and Jessica (Daniel) Zimmerli, Jacob Moen, Amber Moen, Adam Moen, Stacy Wilkin, Walter Zelaner; great-grandchildren: Jackson, Selah, Beau, Brooks, Summer, Gunnar, Maverick, Ava, Evelyn, Rhett; sister, Oma (Robert) Birgenheier; brothers-in-law, Gerald Struxness and Lee Haugen
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Everett on October 1, 1989; a great-grandson, Gabriel Braulick; two sisters: Leone Struxness and Donna Haugen; and two brothers: Harland Nelson and an infant brother Clifford.
