Bill Sickels

June 7, 1934 — July 9, 1994

Bill Sickels, of Montevideo, died on Saturday July 9, 1994 at the Chippewa Co-Montevideo Hospital at the age of 60.  Memorial services will be held on Tuesday July 12, 1994 at 1:00 P.M. at the Watson Lutheran Church in Watson,Mn. with Rev. Robert Rendahl officiating.  Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo.
Willis Elmer Sickels was born on June 7, 1934 in Canby, Minnesota to Fordyce and Eldora Sickels.  He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Canby and graduated from Canby High School in 1954.  He served in the US Air Force from 1955 - 1959 during the Korean Conflict.  He was united in marriage to Hannelore (Heide) Van Anda on June 17, 1981 in Riverside, Ca.  He was employed as a Technical Engineer at American Metal Products in Corona, Ca. until he was forced to retire due to health. He has lived in Montevideo, Mn. since 1981.  He was a member of the Watson Lutheran Church and American Legion Post #59 of Montevideo.

Bill is survived by his wife -Heide; by children - Sandy Card of San Diego,Ca.; Willis Sickels and Debra Sickels of Valencia,Ca.; by step-children - Steven Van Anda of Chicago, Ill.; and Tina Vorvick of Sioux Falls, SD; 12 grandchildren; by his mother - Eldora Mead of Montevideo,Mn.; by his father - Fordyce Sickels of Lamoni,Iowa;  by a brother - Robert Sickels of Sylmar,Ca.; by sisters - Marlene (Larry) Winters of St. Joseph,Mn.; Julane (Jim) Coquyt of Milroy,Mn.; Edie (Lee) Foos of Madison,SD; and Marcia Mead of Minneapolis,Mn.; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; by a step-father - Marcellus Mead; and by a niece - Sheri Doebbert.
