Brandon Satre of Boyd, MN died on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at his home at the age of 29.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 11:00 am at Clarkfield Lutheran Church in Clarkfield, MN with Rev. Chris Zuraff officiating. Interment will be in the Clarkfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 4-6 PM at Clarkfield Lutheran Church and will continue one hour before the service on Monday.
Brandon Gregory Satre was born May 15, 1986 in Montevideo, MN to Marlin and Jeanine (Barck) Satre. He was baptized at First Lutheran Church in Marshall and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran in Boyd. He attended school at Yellow Medicine East graduating in 2004. Brandon worked with his father on the farm and for J&D Construction and Northern Grain for many years. He enjoyed working on high structures and used to call home when he had spare time while he was on top of a grain leg at an elevator. He so enjoyed the view from up high. He was skilled at welding and had his own carpentry business. He did excellent work for many people. Brandon loved animals and enjoyed his time with all his dogs, especially Nikki, Duke and Mongo. Brandon enjoyed spending time with his friends and enjoyed cooking and grilling for his family and friends. He enjoyed watching sports especially his favorite team the Minnesota Vikings. He also enjoyed reading, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, computer games, especially World of Tanks, driving his car and truck and fishing. Brandon was very interested in WWI, WWII and Vietnam history and enjoyed collecting books and memorabilia from that time. Brandon enjoyed listening to music and explored lesser known musicians and their music. He had started learning how to play guitar. Brandon was known for his very unique sense of humor.
Brandon is survived by his parents: Marlin and Jeanine Satre, his sisters: Danielle Satre of Boyd, MN and Michelle Satre of Volga, SD; grandfather Harlen (Dorothy) Barck; aunts: Charlotte (Greg) Alberto, Karen Barck and Laurie (Steve) Laleman; and cousins: Jeremy (Kim), Josh (Amber), Isaiah (Jessica), Kyle, and Heather.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Lois Barck and Marvin and Janet Satre.
