Bru Natatlie (Olson) Borgendale

Bru Borgendale, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, October 14, 1999 near New Castle, PA as a result of an automobile accident at the age of 77.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 19, 1999 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Michael Briggs officiating.  Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening beginning at 4 PM, with the family present from 6 - 8 PM and with a prayer service at 7 PM, all at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Anderson Funeral Home of Montevideo is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Brunhild Natalie (Olson) Borgendale was born on December 16, 1921 in Stony Run Township of Yellow Medicine County, MN to Hilmar J. and Alma (Arneson) Olson.  She was baptized at Camp Release Lutheran Church and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church.  She attended Montevideo Public Schools and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1941.  On May 27, 1945 she was united in marriage to Leo Borgendale at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  They lived and farmed in Lac Qui Parle County until retiring and moving into Montevideo in 1990. She was a long time member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Baxter where she was active in Ladies Aid, Circle and was the choir director and was currently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.  She served a number of years on the LSS Board.  Her spiritual life was very important to her as well as music, reading, and entertaining.

She is survived by her husband, Leo; two sons: David Borgendale and his wife Yvonne of Montpelier, VT and Jonathan Borgendale and his wife Diane of Montevideo; one daughter, Carol Lundberg and her husband Rev. Dan of New Castle, PA; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Paul D. Olson and his wife Jill of Olympia, WA; two sisters: LeNore Olson and her husband Paul of Montevideo and Carol Kittelson - Hill and her husband Bob Hill of St. Cloud, MN; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Hilmar J. Olson, Jr. and Stephen Olson.
