Bruce Lynne, formerly of Montevideo, died on Sunday, September 4, 2005 at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 54.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, September 8, 2005 at Jevnaker Lutheran Church at 1:30 P.M. with Rev. Gregory Gabriel officiating. Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Bruce Stanton Lynne was born February 5, 1951 in Montevideo the son of Palmer and Della (Dew) Lynne. He was baptized and confirmed at Jevnaker Lutheran Church. Bruce attended rural schools and graduated from 9/4/2005Milan High School in 1969. He worked at Trailways Café during High School and while attending college in Willmar. Bruce served honorably in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years where he received many awards including: Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Award Ribbon with one bronze star, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He served in Korea, Germany, Turkey, and Alaska as well as numerous places in the continental United States. He retired from the Air Force in 1995 and returned to rural Montevideo for 2 ½ years. He worked at the Chippewa County Dispatch Office for a short time before taking a job with I.N.S. (Immigration and Nationalization Service) in Lincoln, NE. He was a member of Jevnaker Lutheran Church, the American Legion, and Air Force Security Police Association.
He is survived by two sisters: Kathy Knoshal and her husband Dale of Montevideo, MN, and Marsha Walstrom and her husband Steve of Montevideo, MN; two brothers: Steven Lynne and his wife Sachiko of Grady, NC, and Scott Lynne and his wife June of Montevideo, MN; nieces and nephews: Lon Knoshal and Lance (Dee) Knoshal, Shannon and Wendy Walstrom, Jeremy and John Lynne, and Dustin and Krystal Lynne; and great nieces and nephews: Tyler, Cassandra, Kegan and Kayla Knoshal, Logan and Landen Knoshal, and Alexander Lynne.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Wayne in 1989; one nephew, Lane Knoshal in 1985.
