Carl Engelke, 68, of Granite Falls, died October 25, 1992 at his home in Granite Falls.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 28 at 11:00 A.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Fr. James Moran will preside and burial will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home and until the time of services on Wednesday.
Carl Engelke was born October 4, 1924 at Benson, MN the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Wolfe) Engelke. He grew to adulthood in the Montevideo area. Carl entered the Navy in 1942 and served in WW II, Korea, and Vietnam before his discharge in 1964. He was united in marriage with Viola (Mickels) Anderson on June 13, 1969 at Watertown, SD. They made their home in Granite Falls where Carl worked as a welder at Rogers Hydraulics until his retirement in 1987. Viola died in December of 1986.
He is survived by one daughter Shirley Enstad and her husband Allen of Granite Falls, MN; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Anna Eekhoff living in WI, Wilma Bontjes of Sherburn, MN, and Dorothy Benson of Benson, MN.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, Viola, and one brother Adolph.
