Carl Edward Pearson

Carl Pearson, 89, of Montevideo, died April 18, 1996 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital in Montevideo.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 21, at 2:00 P.M. at Anderson Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Wayne Kopitzke will officiate and interment will be at Strombeck Lutheran Cemetery, rural Montevideo.

Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and with the family from 6-7:00 P.M.

Carl Edward Pearson was born February 2, 1907 in Sparta Township, Chippewa County, MN the son of Emil and Ida (Gustafson) Person.  He was baptized and confirmed in Swedish at the Strombeck Lutheran Church near Wegdahl.  He also attended Swedish school in Dist. #9 and Englist in Dist. #16.  Carl farmed with his father and had a trucking business for many years.  After leaving the farm, he worked for Monte Ready Mix and also did construction work before retiring in 1968.  Carl was united in marriage with Jeanette Kennedy and three daughters and one son were born.

He is survived by one daughter, Carol Jean Siverhus and her husband Iver of Montevideo, MN; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Fitchie of Sacramento, CA; and relatives, neighbors, and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Jeanette; one son, Dennis, Sr.; two daughters:  Ruth Ann and Clarice Lee; one grandson, Bradley Carl Siverhus; and three sisters: Esther, Gladys, and Ruth.
