Carol Munsen, of the Maynard, Mn. area, died on Friday July 29,1994 at the Granite Falls Hospital at the age of 72. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday August 2, 1994 at 1:30 P.M. at the Maynard Baptist Church with Rev. James Scott and Rev. Steve Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Leenthrop Memorial Cemetery near Maynard,Mn. Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M.at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Carol Jeanette (Strickler) Munsen was born on June 13, 1922 in Maynard, Mn. to Roy and Mabel Strickler. She grew up in Chippewa Co., attended rural schools, and graduated from Maynard High School in 1940. She took teachers training and taught rural schools for several years. On March 29, 1947 she was united in marriage to Gerald Munsen in Maynard, Mn. They lived on a farm in Leenthrop Township in Chippewa Co. and she was a very active member of the Maynard Baptist Church, a former member of homemakers, and had been active in the Maynard Mother's Club.
She is survived by her husband - Gerald; by a son - Roger (Eileen) of Montevideo; by daughters - JoAnn (Rev. Steve) Carter of Kingman, Az.; and Gayle (Lowell) Bliss of Montevideo; 8 grandchildren; by a brother - Leon Strickler of Battle Lake, Mn.; by a sister - Marcellou Tibbels of Waco, Tx.; as well as by several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and by a grandson - Duane Munsen in 1989.
