Carol Sandbakken died on Sunday, July 24, 2011 in Maplewood, MN at the age of 70. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Lori Wold officiating. Interment will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Carol Faye (Anderson) Sandbakken was born on June 21, 1941 in Yellow Medicine County, MN to Clifford and Leona (Knutson) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed at Swede Home Lutheran Church. She attended Clarkfield Public Schools and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1959. She later graduated from Willmar Vo-Tech. On June 13, 1959 she was united in marriage to Melvin Sandbakken at Swede Home Lutheran Church. They lived in Dawson, MN, Peru, IN and Streator and Georgetown, IL before retiring to Watson, MN in 1983. She lived in Montevideo and Coon Rapids, MN for several years and has spent the past few years at the Good Samaritan Home in Maplewood, MN. She was a member of the Watson Lutheran Church and was a member of the Mother of Twins Club. She enjoyed gardening, doing yard work, playing cards, camping and fishing. She is survived by three children: Connie Ferrin of Sioux Falls, SD; Diane Sandbakken of Champlin, MN and David (and Connie) Sandbakken of Coon Rapids, MN five grandchildren: Russell, Michael, Michelle, Chad and Andrew and five great grandchildren: Kalista, Bailey, Johnathan, Charlotte and Liam. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Melvin in 1992 and by a brother, Charles Anderson.
