Carol Jean Waters was born in Montevideo on July 14, 1937 to Clifford and Avanell (Anderson) Saue.  She was confirmed and baptized at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. She attended school in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School.  Following high school she worked at Swift in Montevideo.  Carol met George Waters at the races in Montevideo and they were married at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on January 12, 1963.  To this union two children were born: Julie and Jeff.  Besides raising her children Carol worked at Kristie’s Closet in Montevideo and owned and operated The Wedding Boutique.  In addition, she was always helping George with the bread route. Following George’s retirement from the bread truck Carol and George went to work at Ace Hardware in Montevideo.

Carol was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and was active in Circle.  She enjoyed the friendships of her homemaker's club.  In early years Carol and George helped with the local Fiesta Days Parade and with the Montevideo High School Marching Band.  Along with other families, they enjoyed camping and snowmobiling many years together.  Family was so very important to Carol and many hours were spent in the backyard sitting with family and friends and enjoying the neighborhood they lived in.  Carol loved being able to do laundry and hang the laundry outside even in the winter.  Family remembers Carol being a little bit prone to falling so much so that she had her own T-shirt that read “I do my own stunts”. Above all, Carol adored her grandchildren and was a great supporter of their school and athletic events.

Carol is survived by her husband, George; children: Julie (David) Bredeson, Granite Falls, Jeff Waters, Big Lake; grandchildren: Meghan (Chris) Bosch, Kaylee Waters, Kaleb Waters, Korah Waters; great-grandchildren: Haddie and Landrie Bosch; siblings: Shirley Sundlee, Willmar, Janice (Doug) Boike, Clara City, Karen (Gary) Voss, Marshall; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Dale and Richard Saue; two sisters: Gail Saue in infancy and Sharon Jensen; a brother-in-law, Merrill Sundlee; and sister-in-law, Gloria Saue.
