Carol (Saumer) Williamson

September 21, 1944 — May 6, 2016

Carol Williamson of rural Montevideo died Friday, May 6, 2016 at her home at the age of 71.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 11 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo with Rev. Gwen Bohlke officiating.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 10 from 5-7:00 PM at the Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 6:30 PM.  There will also be visitation at the church for one hour before the services.

Carol Jean (Saumer) Williamson was born September 21, 1944 in Ortonville, MN the daughter of Herbert and Ruth (Gamm) Saumer.  She was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Carol graduated from Montevideo Senior High in 1963.  She was united in marriage with LeRoy Williamson on June 27, 1964.  To this union three children: Jeff, Chad, and Pamela were born.  Carol was employed at several Montevideo businesses including Welker’s and the HomeStore.  After retiring in 2008, she spent her leisure time enjoying family, traveling, crafts, swimming, exercising, reading and volunteering.  She also enjoyed gardening, quilting, playing cards, and spending time with family every chance she could.  Carol was a volunteer for The Gathering.  She was very active at the United Methodist Church where she served on the Board of Trustees and participated in Bible Study and Circle.

She is survived by her husband, LeRoy; children: Jeffery (LouAnn) Williamson of Worthington, MN, Chad (Becky) of Portland, OR, and Pamela (Dave) McNutt of Lakeville, MN; seven grandchildren: Kaylee (Josh), Dayton, Emily, Crystal, Lane, Mackenzie, and Carolyn; great-grandson, Hudson; a brother, Kenneth (Peggy) Saumer; a sister, Jill Zenter; a sisters-in-law, Karen Saumer, Toni Williamson, Karen (DeWayne) Hermanson and Marie (Merrill) Dieken ; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a sister, Betty; a brother, Lanny; four brothers-in-law; a nephew, Ole Norman; and a niece, Stacia Saumer.
