Carole Jean (Mead) Ward

Carole Ward, of Montevideo, died Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at CCM Health in Montevideo at the age of 88.

Private family graveside services will be held.

Carole Jean Mead was born March 15, 1936 in Montevideo, MN to Glenn and Wilhelmina (Boller) Mead.  She attended Montevideo High School.  Carole was united in marriage to Elmer Ward on March 30, 1955 in Watertown, SD.  They lived in Plattsmouth, NE, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and Merced, CA, before returning to Montevideo in 1969.

Carole is survived by her three sons, Larry Ward of Montevideo, MN, James (Doris) Ward of Maple Grove, MN and William (Julie) Ward of Virginia Beach, VA; three daughters, Julia Eckhoff of Maple Plaine, MN, Shelley (Terry) Hubble of Montevideo, MN and Cathy (Scott) Olson of Daytona Beach, FL; grandchildren, Kendra, Travis and Dustin Ward, Melissa (Derek) Schmitz, Matthew Ward, Zachary (Ashley), Jesse, Aaron and Lauren Eckhoff, Marcus and Lily Ward, Tasha (Brian) Christensen, and Heather (Phila Sifundza) Olson; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; son, Dennis Ward; grandson, Nicholas Ward; sister Judith McCully; and niece, Joy Skyes.
