Cassel Kalm, formerly of Montevideo and Olivia, died on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at her home in North Mankato at the age of 84.
Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church in North Mankato, MN with Rev. James Roe officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo, MN.
Cassel Irene (Rehling) Kalm was born on August 3, 1921 in Pine Island, MN to Edward and Margaret (Karlen) Rehling. She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Washburn High School. On June 18, 1943 she was united in marriage to Karl Kalm in Minneapolis, MN. They lived in Fargo, ND for 2 years before moving to Montevideo, where they lived until moving to Olivia, MN in 1980. Following the death of Karl last year, she moved to North Mankato, MN. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and enjoyed camping in their motor home, traveling, playing golf and bingo, watching sports on television and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by a son: Kent Kalm and his wife Wendy of Mankato, MN; 3 grandchildren: Melissa Banse and her husband Troy of Mankato, MN; Julie Kalm of Plymouth, MN and Jeremy Kalm and Jessy Snow of North Mankato, MN; 3 great-grandchildren: Grace and Allison Banse and Caleb Kalm; a brother, Jerry Rehling and his wife Orley of Coon Rapids, MN as well as by several nieces and nephews.
Cassel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Karl in 2005; 2 children: Pamela and Scott Kalm.
