Charles Sylte, of Milan, died on Saturday, December 7, 2002 at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN at the age of 82.
Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, December 21, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan with Rev. Wayne Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Charles Norman Sylte was born on August 22, 1920 in Milan, MN to John and Hilda (Struxness) Sylte. He was baptized and confirmed at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan and graduated from Milan High School in 1939. On December 31, 1941 he was united in marriage to Janette Fossen at her family farm near Madison, MN. They farmed for many years until retiring and moving into Milan. He was a lifelong member of Kviteseid Lutheran Church, played drums in several small dance bands including the RS Combo and enjoyed gardening and cooking.
He is survived by one son, David Sylte and his wife June of Marion, IN; one daughter, Marcia Belisle and her husband Gary of Burnsville, MN; six grandchildren: Jill and Scott Sylte, Amy Belisle - Keith and her husband Ben Keith, Andrea, John and Michael Belisle; one sister, Genora Bogie of Benson, MN; as well as by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janette in 1993 and a sister, Nathalie Streed.
