Charlotte Johnson, formerly of Montevideo, died on Saturday, February 22, 1997 at the Bethesda Pleasant View Nursing Home in Willmar at the age of 82.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, February 26,1997 at 1:30 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Lois Knutson and Rev. Warren Broughton officiating. Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home of Montevideo.
Charlotte Susan Leona (Coy) Johnson was born on May 31, 1914 in Montevideo, MN to Jacob and Florence (Bishop) Coy. She grew up in Montevideo and spent most of her life there. In 1933 she was united in marriage to Alvin Johnson in Montevideo. She worked as a waitress and cook at Stamsons Cafe for a number of years and did babysitting in homes. She became a resident of Bethesda Pleasant View Nursing Home in Willmar in 1995. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol Fossum of Northfield, MN; three grandchildren: John Fossum of Northfield, MN, Kari Fossum of Rosemount, MN, and Kris Bierman of Cannon Falls, MN; four great-grandchildren: Marnie Bolton, Thyra Bierman, Kaia Bierman, and Katie Bierman; and one brother, Vernon Coy of Willmar, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin in 1958; one son-in-law, Lee Fossum; and six brothers: James, Claude, Lawrence, Robert, Allen and Lester Coy.
