Charlotte Wallace, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 82. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 1:30 P.M. at the Watson Lutheran Church with Rev. Larry Olson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon with the family present from 3 - 4 PM and with a prayer service at 4 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Charlotte Antonie (Hilden) Wallace was born on December 5, 1924 in Montevideo, MN to Gilbert and Inga (Iverson) Hilden. She was baptized on Dec.26, 1924 and confirmed on October 2, 1938, both at the Watson Lutheran Church. She attended Watson Public Schools and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1942. She was united in marriage to Eugene Wallace at the Watson Lutheran Church. Charlotte lived in the Watson/Montevideo area until moving to Minneapolis in the mid 1960's. She worked as a retail clerk at various retail establishments over the years. In 1997 she returned to the Montevideo area. She was a resident of the Clarkfield Care Center for a couple of years and has been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home for nearly 5 years. She was a member of Watson Lutheran Church and was active in the Sons of Norway in Minneapolis. She enjoyed doing crafts including knitting, crocheting and painting.
She is survived by 3 children: Robert Wallace and his wife Barbara of Fairhope, AL; Patricia Casagrande and her husband John of Salisbury, MD and Melvin Wallace of Minneapolis, MN; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, Irvin “Corky” Hilden.
