Clarence O. Borg

Clarence Borg, of Montevideo, died on Saturday, January 24, 1998 at the Ashwood Health Care Center in Willmar at the age of 83.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, January 27, 1998 at 1:30 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Warren Broughton officiating.  Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  Anderson Funeral Home of Montevideo was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Clarence O. Borg was born on January 2, 1915 in Yellow Medicine Co., MN to Claus & Olivia (Nordang) Borg.  He grew up in Yellow Medicine Co.  He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. On November 5, 1946 he was united in marriage to Lillian Koenen in Montevideo. For many years he worked in the construction business before retiring.  He lived in rural Montevideo for many years until entering the Ashwood Health Care Center in Willmar several months ago. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the VFW.

Clarence is survived by a daughter Elaine Appelwick and her husband Kevin of Cottage Grove, MN; and Barb Ruter and her husband Tag of Raymond, MN; a sister - Freda Waller of Montevideo and 2 sisters-in-law - Myrtle Borg of Montevideo and Ardis Borg of St. Paul, MN.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Lillian in 1984. A sister - Martha Borg and by 5 brothers - Alvin, Anton, Julius, Adolph and Johnnie Borg.
