Clarice Goulson, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 96.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 26th at 11:00 A.M. at Big Bend Lutheran Church with Rev. Scott Nagel officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening, with the family being present from 6:30 - 7:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo, and for one hour prior to services at the church.
Clarice Bernice Goulson was born on December 13, 1909 in Big Bend Township, Chippewa Co., MN and was the oldest child of Adolph and Lena (Hanson) Goulson. She was baptized and confirmed at Big Bend Lutheran Church and attended rural schools. She worked at a defense plant during World War II and worked at the Alstad Store in Hagen for many years and also worked at the Dalen Store in Milan. She moved to Montevideo in the 1950's, working at the bakery and the dietary kitchen at the Montevideo Hospital prior to her retirement. She has been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home for the past 6 years. She was a life-long member of Big Bend Lutheran Church.
She is survived by a brother, Roger Goulson and his wife Jeane of Decorah, IA; sisters-in-law: Stella Goulson of Montevideo and Jean Goulson of Fairmont, MN; 8 nephews; 4 nieces and numerous grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Ted, Gerry, Rolf, Vernon and Elken Goulson; sisters: Dagny Gunderson; Alvina Kleven and Elna Goulson; and brothers-in-law, Orville Gunderson and Phillip Kleven.
