Clayton Donald Schultz

February 9, 1907 — December 18, 1993


Clayton Donald Schultz was born on February 9, 1907 in Granite Falls, Mn. to Fred and Caroline Schultz.  He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo and attended Montevideo schools.  He was united in marriage to Dagny Haakenson on October 8, 1930 in Montevideo. He worked as a heavy equipment operatorfor a year in Thule, Greenland and for many years at Minnesota Valley Improvement Co. before retiring in 1969.  He was a member of the Christian Labor Association and The International Union of Operating Engineers. He was a lifelong resident of Montevideo and a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Clayton died on Saturday December 18 at the Chippewa Co-Montevideo Hospital at the age of 86.  He is survived by his wife Dagny: by a daughter - Virginia (Stan) Stehlik of Jackson,Mn.; by sons - LaVere"Bud" (Jan) Schultz of Montevideo and Donald Schultz of Sheldon, Ia.; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, by brothers - Walter and Emil, and by a sister - Cora Ost.

Funeral Services - Wednesday Dec. 22  2:00 P.M.  Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Alvin G. Lewis, Jr. officiating.  Burial in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
