Clifford Iverson

Clifford Iverson, of Montevideo, died on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 93.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 1:30 P.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Donald S. McKee  officiating.    Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo.  Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before services on Saturday.

Clifford Gerald Iverson was born on January 22, 1914 in Swift County, MN to Eddie and Clara (Saterbak) Iverson.  He was baptized on January 27, 1914 and confirmed on October 14, 1928 at Big Bend Lutheran Church.  He attended rural schools and graduated from the Morris Agriculture School.  On September 29, 1940, he was united in marriage to Helen Goulson.  They farmed in West Bank Township of Swift County before moving to Montevideo in 1970.  He worked at Brandon Tire until retiring in 1979.  In 1998, he moved into Scofield Place in Benson, where he lived until moving to Luther Haven in Montevideo in April of 2005.  He was a member of Big Bend Lutheran Church while he lived in West Bank Township and became a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church when they moved to Montevideo.  He also served as treasurer of the school board for District 85 for many years.  He loved farming and enjoyed woodworking, polka music and played the accordion.

He is survived by two daughters: Loretta Burns and her husband Rodney of Benson, MN and Delores Petrie and her husband Jeffrey of St. Louis Park, MN; and two grandchildren: Kristofer Petrie and his wife Krista and Kevin Petrie and his fiance Jessica Abbott.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Helen in 1997.
