Clifford Marienau, 70, of Montevideo died May 24, 1993 at his home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 27, 1993 at 10:30 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Warren Broughton and Mr. Jay Dahlvang will officiate and interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before services on Thursday. There will be a prayer service Wednesday evening at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Clifford Dale Marienau was born at Langdon, IA October 20, 1922, the son of Albert and Agnes (Straight) Marienau. He was baptized July 18, 1923 and confirmed May 30, 1937 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Terril, IA. Clifford moved to Minnesota in 1946 and was united in marriage with Hazel Heise February 20, 1949 at Canby, MN. They lived and farmed in the Maynard and Montevideo area until retiring in 1982. They moved into Montevideo in 1983. He served on the Maynard Lutheran Church Council, was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo, and was active in the Eagles. Hazel died November 7, 1986.
He is survived by three daughters: Marcia Golden and her husband Nick of Montevideo, MN, Linda Huseby and her husband Ron of Montevideo, MN, and Julie Roggatz and her husband Kevin of Storm Lake, IA; nine grandchildren; one brother Arlo Marienau of Montevideo, MN; and two sisters: Verna Spencer of Montevideo, MN and Ila Alesch of Graettinger, IA.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife.
