Clifford "Irvin" Ervin Jorgenson

Irvin Jorgenson, of Montevideo, died on Tuesday, January 4, 2000 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 85.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 8, 2000 at 1:30 PM at Salem Lutheran Church with Rev. Wayne D. Kopitzke officiating.  Burial will be in the Brono Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Clifford Ervin “Irvin” Jorgenson was born on March 15, 1914 in Lac Qui Parle County, MN to George and Mathilda (Axness) Jorgenson.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. Petri Lutheran Church and attended rural schools.  He farmed for many years before retiring and moving to Montevideo in 1975. On November 22, 1980 he was united in marriage to Viola Engebretson Jorgenson at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  He was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church and more recently a member of Salem Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife Viola; two children: Robert Jorgenson and his wife Nancy of Willmar, MN and Donna Domm and her husband Allen of Elk River, MN; six grandchildren: Robert Jorgenson, Jr,  Tally Sleigh and her husband Chad,  Tory Jorgenson, Mary Anne Domm, Kristina Domm and Amanda Domm; three great-grandchildren: Marissa and Mitchell Jorgenson and Isaac Sleigh; two brothers: Raymond Jorgenson and his wife Grace of Minneapolis, MN and George Jorgenson of Montevideo, MN; three sisters: Helen Christopherson and her husband Hiram of Clarkfield, MN, Lorraine Marienau and her husband Arlo of Montevideo, MN and Delores Christenson and her husband Roy of Menomonie, WI; one sister-in-law, Agnes Jorgenson of Montevideo, MN; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Arthur, Milford, Harris and LeRoy Jorgenson; and four sisters: Judith Jorgenson, Myrtle Brown, Esther Strand and by a sister in infancy.
