Clinton Stewart, of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 83. Services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 1:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Pastor Marie Eckberg officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2010 from 5-7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Clinton Arthur Stewart was born on May 16, 1926 in Benson, MN to Arthur and Jessie (Smith) Stewart. He grew up in rural Benson and attended Benson schools. On January 25, 1948, he was united in marriage to Joyce Neiman. They farmed in Grace Township for many years before retiring and moving to Montevideo in the mid 1970's. They spent summers at their cabin on Lake of the Woods. Clinton had been a member of the Farmer's Union and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, travel and playing cards. He was a resident at Copper Glen for a year before moving to Luther Haven Nursing Home a little over a year ago. He is survived by two sons: Larry Stewart (and friend Julie Iverson) of Montevideo and Thomas Stewart of Granite Falls, MN; two grandchildren: Ryan Stewart (and wife Amy) of Montevideo and Nathan Stewart (and wife Amy) of Granite Falls, MN; a sister, Norma (Royal) Olson of Montevideo; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce in 2008; and two brothers: Elmer (Margaret) Stewart and Leslie Stewart.
