Clyde Irving Emery

Clyde Emery, 77, died April 20, 1996 at his home in Montevideo.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 24, 1996 at 1:00 P.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.  Rev. Warren Broughton and Rev. Douglas Olson will officiate and interment will be at Watson Lutheran Cemetery, Watson, MN.

Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and with the family from 7-8:00 P.M.  There will also be visitation at the church for one hour before services on Wednesday.

Clyde Irving Emery was born September 21, 1918 at Montevideo, MN the son of Ray and Nina (Tupper) Emery.  He was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1938.  Clyde served in the US Army from 1940-1945 in North Africa and Italy.  He was united in marriage with Florence Anderson August 10, 1947 in Montevideo.  They made their home in Montevideo and he worked as a school custodian and bus driver until his retirement in 1986.  Clyde was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W., D.A.V., Lakeside Dance Club, and Kandi Dancers.  He enjoyed dancing and woodcrafting toys for his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Florence; three daughters: Julie Peterson and her husband Mark of Montevideo, MN, Jeri Blom and her husband Fred of Montevideo, MN, and Janet McClung and her husband Dan of Akeley, MN; two sons: Bill Emery of Montevideo, MN and Bob Emery and his wife Terri of Montevideo, MN; eight grandchildren: John and Annie Peterson, Andrew and Carrie Blom, Emily and Adam McClung, and Brittni and Bryton Emery; and one sister, LaVonne Falk of Brooklyn Center, MN.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers: Orm Emery and Larry Emery; and one sister, Cora Wik.
