Cora Melinda (Rud) Thompson

Cora (Rud) Thompson, formerly of the Montevideo area, died on Thursday, March 19, 1998 in Canyon Lake, CA at the age of 78.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, March 23, 1998 at 1:30 PM at Jevnaker Lutheran Church with Rev. Gregory Gabriel officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.

Cora Melinda (Rud) Thompson was born on September 30, 1919 in Chippewa Co., Minnesota to Lawrence and Minnie (Nokleby) Rud.  She was baptized and confirmed at Jevnaker Lutheran Church and attended rural schools.  On July 17, 1938 she was united in marriage to Orville Thompson.  The farmed in the Benson, MN area for several years and lived in Marshall, MN for many years before moving to California in 1977.  She was currently living with a daughter in Canyon Lake, CA.

She is survived by daughters - Wanda Sommerfield and her husband Joseph of Sacremento, CA; Audrey Boe and her husband Roger of Keller,TX; and Roselie Nelson and her husband Gary of Canyon Lake, CA; a son - LuVerne Thompson of Longmont, CO; 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; brothers - Chester Rud and his wife Marlyn and Leslie Rud and his wife Irene of Montevideo; and Ole Rud and his wife Carolyn of Milan, MN; a sister - Ruby Olson of Montevideo; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband Orville in 1982.
