Cora Alberta (Carlson) Weisbrod

Cora Weisbrod, formerly of Montevideo, died on Friday  May 3, 1996 at the Northridge Health Care Center in New Hope, MN at the age of 88.

Memorial services will be conducted on Monday May 6, 1996 at 1:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev.  Warren Broughton officiating.

Cora Alberta (Carlson) Weisbrod was born on August 12, 1907 in Lac Qui Parle Co., MN to John and Caroline (Johanasson) Carlson.  She was baptized and confirmed at Providence Valley Lutheran Church and attended rural schools.  In 1925 she graduated from Dawson High School.  She took nurse's training in Dawson and at the University of Minnesota and became a registered nurse.  She worked as a nurse for many years at the Montevideo Hospital before retiring in 1975.  She also spent a couple of years working at the St. Peter State Hospital in St. Peter, MN.  She moved to New Hope , MN about four years ago and has been a resident of the Northridge Care Center in New Hope for the past 2 years.  She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and was active in its women's groups and Bible studies.

She is survived by a son - Lawren of Montevideo and a daughter Carol Johnson and her husband Arne of New Hope, MN; grandchildren - Todd Johnson of Minneapolis; Erika Johnson of Charlotte, NC and Matthew Johnson of New Hope, MN; as well as by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by an infant son - Llewellyn; and by brothers - Elmer and Melvin Carlson.
