Corrine Wogan died Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson at the age of 97.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson. Rev. Kendall Stelter will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held for one hour before the service on Wednesday.
Corrine Bernice (Bakke) Wogan was born June 8, 1922 to Oscar and Inga (North) Bakke in Pleasant Valley Township, St. Croix County, WI. She was baptized August 22, 1922 and confirmed June 22, 1937 at Rush River Lutheran Church in Martell, WI. She grew up on the family farm in Pleasant Valley Township and attended Valley View grade school and graduated from Baldwin High School in 1941. Corrine worked for over 40 years at the Webb Publishing Co. in St. Paul which later became Quebecar Printing and she continued to work there until retirement. She married Douglas Wogan on February 14, 1992 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Paul. They made their home in Dawson, MN. Doug passed away in November 30, 1994. She continued to live in her home until she moved into Johnson Memorial Care Center the day before her 95th birthday in June of 2017.
Corrine enjoyed the out of doors. She spent two summers working at Yellowstone National Park and took canoe trips to the Boundary Waters Canoe area out of Ely. She also traveled to Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Hawaii. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed quilting at church.
She is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Douglas; four brothers: Howard (Maxine) Bakke, Gordon Bakke, Walter (Helen) Bakke, and Lyle (Lillian) Bakke; and three sisters: Marion (Kenneth) Olson, Hazel (Odine) Stinson, and Doris (Alfred) Ramberg.
