Curtis D. Hanson, of Montevideo died Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 88.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 30, 2017 at United Methodist Church in Montevideo with Rev. Sam Kautz officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Curtis Duane Hanson was born on November 1, 1928 in Montevideo to Bernt and Clarice (Dalen) Hanson. He attended Montevideo High School and graduated in 1946. Following graduation, he farmed his family land. On June 11, 1950 he was united in marriage to Maxie Lou (Todt) at the Methodist Church in Montevideo.
Curtis served in the US Army during the end of the Korean Conflict. Following his service, he worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers from 1967 until 1998. He also managed the Lac qui Parle Flood Control Project. When he was not farming, Curtis enjoyed having coffee with his friends and woodworking.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Maxie Lou; three children: Kim (Mike) Rengstorff, Chaska, Mark, Lexington, KY, and Stacy (Barry) Walker, Brainerd; grandchildren: Alex and Clare Rengstorff, Curtis and Campbell Hanson, Jordan (Kyle) Mileski, and Logan and Max Walker; and one great-granddaughter, Quinn Mileski.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
