Cynthia Berge, of Montevideo, died on Friday, May 24, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 59. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 1:30 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Tim Ehling officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 - 7 P.M. with a prayer service at 6:45 P.M. at the Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Cynthia Jane (Holthe) Berge was born on May 1, 1954 in Zumbrota, MN to Obert and Gladys (Swain) Holthe. She was baptized at Stordahl Church and confirmed at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Pine Island, MN. She grew up in Pine Island and graduated from Pine Island High School in 1972. She attended Moorhead State College and worked and attended school in Rochester, MN. On June 30, 1979 she was united in marriage to Robert Berge at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Pine Island. They settled in the Milan/Montevideo area, where she worked as a receptionist at the Montevideo Clinic for over thirty-three years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed shopping, gambling, playing badminton, summer vacations in Branson, MO and visiting with people. The most enjoyable time for her was spending time with her family, especially her grandson Haeden.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; a son, Derek Berge of Montevideo; a daughter, Maegen (and Travis) Honzay and their son Haeden of Sacred Heart, MN; her mother, Gladys Holthe of Zumbrota, MN and a sister, Jeanne Gross of Albert Lea, MN.
She was preceded in death by her father, Obert Holthe and by a brother-in-law, Donald Gross.
