Cynthia Jerve, of rural Montevideo, died on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at her home at the age of 60. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Marie Eckberg officiating. Interment will be in Jevnaker Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Cynthia Lee Jerve was born on November 15, 1951 in St. Paul, MN to Eugene and Hazel (Sausen) Ekvall. She grew up in the Forest Lake, MN area and graduated from Forest Lake High School in 1969. On May 20, 1972 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Jerve in Wyoming, MN. They lived in Coon Rapids, MN for eight years before moving to a farm home in Mandt Township in Chippewa County in 1980. She worked at Minnwest Bank in Montevideo for over twenty years and was an active member of Jevnaker Lutheran Church. She enjoyed camping, shopping with her daughter, traveling, and a good cup of coffee. Her special times were playing with Mason and spending time with friends and family. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; children: Brian Jerve of Sartell, MN and Jill (and Preston) Forsberg of Fargo, ND; a grandson, Mason Forsberg; expected twin grandchildren; her mother, Hazel Ekvall of Forest lake, MN; a brother, Barry (and Mary) Ekvall of Wyoming, MN; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Deb (and Jon) Backlund of Fargo, ND, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Ekvall and by a sister, Sandra Anderson.
