Daisy Hein, of Maynard, died August 16, 1998 at the Clara City Nursing Home at the age of 94.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 21, 1998 at 1:00 P.M. at Maynard Baptist Church in Maynard with visitation from 11:00-1:00 at the church on Friday. Pastor James Scott will officiate and interment will be at Leenthrop Memorial Cemetery, rural Maynard.
Daisy May Ireland was born January 22, 1904 in Parker Township near Randall, MN the daughter of Frank and Myrtle (Keller) Ireland. She grew up near Burtrum, MN and attended school there. Daisy was united in marriage with Edward G. Hein February 13, 1926 in Minneapolis, MN. She lived in Burtrum, MN and Mapleton, IA before moving to Maynard, MN in 1931. Daisy worked as a bookkeeper at the Maynard Creamery from 1942-61. She was active in the Maynard Garden Club, Maynard Baptist Church and Mission Circle, The Birthday Club and the Homemakers Club, and the Monday Morning Coffee Club of Maynard which met for over 50 years. Edward died March 4, 1990. Daisy moved to Prairie Park Place in Clara City in November of 1992 and later to the Clara City Nursing Home.
She is survived by one daughter, Corinne Nelson and her husband Rodney of Midland, MI; one daughter-in-law, Arlene Hein of North Branch, MN; seven grandchildren: Bruce and Becky Hein of St. Paul, MN, Janet (Hein) Anderson of St. Cloud, MN, Karen (Hein and Tom Middendorf of North Branch, MN, Robert and Beth Hein of Rush City, MN, Steven Nelson of Laurium, MI, Margaret Nelson and Barry Lukoff of Rochester, NY, and Daniel and Laura Nelson of Kalamazoo, MI; nine great-grandchildren: Kathryn and Barbara Moore, Tara Meyer, Joseph Anderson, Brittney and Brooke Hein, Jennifer, Lindsay, and Anna Nelson; one brother-in-law, Phillip Hein and Lucile of St. Paul, MN; two sisters-in-law: Metta Frank of Winthrop, MN and Myrtle Hein of Chaska, MN; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Ed; one son, Durwood Hein; one brother, Clarence Ireland; one grandson, Peter Nelson; and one great-grandson, Edward S. Hein.
