Darlene Kranzler, of Montevideo, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 82.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Chris Lieske officiating. Interment in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 - 7 P.M. at the Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Darlene Ann (Lorig) Kranzler was born on August 2, 1931 in rural Lyon County, MN to John and Dora (Neuman) Lorig. She was baptized on September 13, 1931 in Cottonwood, MN, confirmed on March 25, 1945 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marshall, MN and graduated from Marshall High School in 1948. On May 15, 1950 she was united in marriage to Jacob Kranzler at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marshall. They lived in Marshall, Aberdeen, SD, Valley City, ND, and Byron, MN before moving to Montevideo in the early 1960's. They also spent a number of years wintering in Apache Junction, AZ. Darlene worked at the Chippewa Clinic and as a secretary and dispatcher for the Chippewa Co Sheriff’s Department before retiring in the mid 1980's.. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the auxiliaries of the VFW, American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. She enjoyed camping, playing cards, sewing, crafts, knitting, crocheting, tatting, cross stitching and square dancing.
She is survived by her husband, Jacob; a son, Leslie Kranzler and his wife Pamela of Waconia, MN; a daughter, Nancy Lohn and her husband James of Belgrade, MN; four grandchildren: Timothy Kranzler, Kristen Kranzler, Michelle Lohn, Matthew Lohn and wife Breanna; and a great-granddaughter, Emmeline Lohn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Raymond Lorig.
