Darwin "Dee" Norman

March 29, 1924 — July 10, 2014

Darwin “Dee” Norman, 90, entered into eternal peace on July 10, 2014 while in Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 1:00 PM At Independent Baptist Church in Ramsey, MN.  Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Nowthen, MN.

Visitation will be Monday, July 14 at 5:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Darwin “Dee” Allan Norman was born March 29, 1924 in Yellow Medicine County to Milo and Tillie (Storeby) Norman.  He attended school through the eighth grade. He served in the Navy for two years. On April 7, 1946 he was united in marriage to Marion Reese in Hampton, VA.  Upon his discharge he ran a gas station business for a few years that was owned by his father-in-law.   They moved to Minnesota in 1952 and made their home in Coon Rapids for several years.  In 1966 he fulfilled one of his dreams by purchasing 40 acres by Anoka, MN where he raised percheron draft horses and dogs.  He retired from Anoka County School district as a maintenance worker.  In later years his nephew went with him to auctions and  horse shows  Dee was a faithful member of Independent Baptist church for many years.  In 2009 when Dee’s health started to decline he moved to an  assisted living  in Waconia, MN.

Dee leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his loving daughter, Dorothy (Tom) Pierce of Pacific, MO; son Daniel Norman of Minneapolis, MN; two sisters: Doris Kittleson of Madison, MN and Shirley Krickle of Minneapolis, MN; three granddaughters: Lisa (Brian) Rogerson, Amy (Trent) Ryan and April (Tom) Curtis; three great-grandchildren: Sophie and Charlie Ryan and Marybeth Curtis; and many nieces, and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife of  57 years, Marion Norman in 2003, his parents; two brothers: Milo Norman Jr. and James Norman; and sister, Francis Raffelson.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Lighthouse of Waconia administration and staff for giving Dee dignified and excellent care over the last few years.
