David Brovold

David Brovold, of Watson, died on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital at the age of 71. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Watson Lutheran Church with Rev. Larry Olson officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening with the family present from 4 - 7 P.M. and with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Orville David Brovold was born on April 19, 1939 in Montevideo, MN to Olaf and Lillian (Blooflat) Brovold. He grew up in rural Montevideo, attended rural schools and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1956. On July 28, 1956 he was united in marriage to Shirley Johnson in Montevideo. They lived in Montevideo for several years and spent about ten years in Lino Lakes, MN before moving to Watson in 1970. He was a member of Watson Lutheran Church and had served as a board member. He loved going to auctions, sales events, enjoyed his farm and animals, liked volunteering and helping friends, and most importantly loved being a part of and enjoying his family. He is survived by his wife Shirley; six children: Heather (and Warren) Redfield of Glenwood, MN, Kevin (and Kim) Brovold of Alexandria, MN, Mitch (and Karen) Brovold of Granite Falls, MN, Susan (and Ryan) Gilbertson of Montevideo, MN, Natalie (and Doug) Marks of Redwood Falls, MN and Nathaniel "J.J." (and Jen) Brovold of Eden Valley, MN; seventeen grandchildren: Nicole, Jessica, Kelsey, Jeremy, Justin, Nathan, Stephanie, Garret, Leah, Paige, Joe, Amanda, Aaron, Britney, Ellie, Tate and Grace; ten great-grandchildren: Ryann, Taylor, Jada, Jorja, Regan, Lucas, Hailey, Nevaeh, Kaden, Kaylee, and soon to be baby boy Norman and baby Brovold; two sisters: Lorraine Becker of Mesa, AZ and Diane Larson of Alexandria, MN; a half-brother, Dale Brovold of Akron, IA; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Hannah Gilbertson.
