David Folkestad, of Montevideo, died on Monday, November 4, 2013 at his home at the age of 64. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 1:30 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Tim Ehling officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 - 7 P.M. at the Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.
David Alan Folkestad was born on January 7, 1949 in Montevideo, MN to Gordon and Lorraine (Sandbakken) Folkestad. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1967. He attended a Technical School in Minneapolis studying electronics. On December 9, 1972 he was united in marriage to Luann Kuehn in Milwaukee, WI. He worked in several locations, including Milwaukee, WI doing electronics work. Returning to Montevideo, he did mechanic work, operated the Radio Shack franchise in Montevideo for several years and most recently worked at Monte Tire. He enjoyed antique cars, guns and hunting and his dogs.
He is survived by his wife, Luann; a son, Gavin Folkestad of Luverne, MN; his mother, Lorraine Folkestad of Montevideo, several cousins, aunts, uncles and his dog, Skipper.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon.
