David N. Heath

David Heath, of Montevideo, died on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Veterans Care Facility in St. Cloud at the age of 90. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo. Rev. Kendall Stelter will officiate and interment will be in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 5 - 7 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. David Noble Heath was born on January 18, 1922 in Redwood Falls, MN to Ernest and Minnie (Vane) Heath. He attended school in Montevideo. On November 29, 1942 he was united in marriage to Audrey Haakinson at Lac qui Parle Lutheran Church in rural Dawson, MN. To this union were born three sons: James, Charles and Michael. He served in the US Army during World War II from January of 1943 until January of 1946 as an antiaircraft gunner. Following his discharge he returned to Montevideo and worked for Woods Plumbing and Heating. He worked for several years for Powers Regulators and Grider, Inc. of Sioux Falls, SD installing Thermostatic controls in commercial construction. On December 28, 1969 he was united in marriage to Wanda Schauer Ericson in Hutchinson, MN. He served on the Montevideo Police reserve and was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W and the MN Valley Antique Farm Power & Machinery Association. He liked to fish and hunt, to restore antique tractors and gas engines, and flying. He is survived by his wife, Wanda of Montevideo; sons: James (and Marlys) of Dawson, MN and Michael of Arizona; a daughter-in-law, Dianne Heath of Arizona; one granddaughter; five grandsons; eight great grandchildren. Two step-daughters: Sandra Oglesby of South Carolina and Edna (and Richard) Neubarth of Young America, MN; eight step-grandchildren and thirteen step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Charles; great granddaughter, Megan Botzet and by step-daughter, Rickie Ann Ericson and step-son Allen Ericson.
