Dean A. Anderson, Sr., 65, of Grapeland, TX and formerly of Clara City, MN died October 28, 2001 at the East Texas Medical Center - Crockett, TX

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 30, 2001 at 10:00 A.M. in the First Assembly of God Church in Crockett, TX with Rev. Albert Cortez, Rev. Ottis Byers, and Rev. Olen Troutman officiating.

Graveside funeral services were held on Saturday, November 3, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens, rural Montevideo with  Rev. Tom Flaherty officiating.

Dean A. Anderson, Sr. was born January 2, 1936 in Chippewa County, MN the son of Otto and Fern (Williamson) Anderson.  He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Louriston Township.  He attended rural school in District #47 and graduated from Clara City High School in 1953.  Dean was a member of the MN Army National Guard.  He was united in marriage with Ione Beckman September 10, 1955 at Pennock, MN.  He farmed in Woods Township, Chippewa County, MN and he also worked at the Pennock Creamery and the implement dealer in Kerkhoven, MN.  They lived in Clara City before moving to Crockett, TX in 1971.  He ran Anderson Auto Repair in Crockett, TX until his retirement.  Dean was united in marriage with Rebecca Utsey June 18, 1999 at Crockett, TX.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; five children: Kathryn Osmond of Crockett, TX, Dean Jr. and his wife Deborah of Crockett, TX, Vicki Hamilton and her husband Gary of Crockett, TX, Julie Brown and her husband David of Tyler, TX, and David and his wife Tammy of Crockett, TX; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Ardis Newberg and her husband Kenneth of Blomkest, MN; two brothers: Harlow Anderson of Clara City, MN, and Lowell Anderson and his wife Barbara of Clara City, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Ione in 1996; and an infant son, Daniel Lee Anderson.
