Deanna Hodge died Friday, July 26, 2024 at her home in rural Watson at the age of 84.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo.  Pastor Sam Kautz will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 5-7:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 6:45 PM.  There will also be visitation at the church for one hour before the service.

Deanna Dee (Witte) Hodge was born November 20, 1939 in Big Stone County, the daughter of August and Carrie (Monson) Witte.  She was baptized and confirmed at Correll Lutheran Church and graduated from Appleton High School in 1957.  She was united in marriage to Weldy Hodge, January 18, 1975 in Watertown, SD.  They made their home in the Montevideo - Watson area. She worked at the KDMA radio station for 50 years and served as its manager.  Deanna was always active in the community.  She served on the Chippewa County Fair Board,  the Montevideo Chamber Admirals, Fiesta, and the Montevideo Police reserves.  She was also active at the United Methodist Church helping with the prayer garden and the Turkey Suppers.  Deanna enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with family.  She especially loved times spent in Montana hunting and the mountains of Wyoming.

She is survived by her children: Jan (Jim) Bothun of Watson, Jodi (Troy) Blankenhagen of Clinton, Jill German (special friend Carter Lokken) of Watson, Carmen (Mark) Weckwerth of Montevideo, Rex (Linda) Hodge of Montevideo, and Tami (Jim) Bittner of Montevideo; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Donna Witte of Appleton and Marlene Olson of Becker; a brother, Don Witte of Appleton; a sister-in-law, Miriam Witte of New Hope; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Weldy; three grandchildren: Megan Bothun, Patricia German, and Amber Bothun; three brothers: Dean Witte, Alfred Witte, and August Witte, Jr.; a sister, Carol Gulden; and brothers-in-law, Lewis Olson and Orville Gulden.

She will be dearly missed.
