Deanna "Dee" Gilley

Deanna “Dee” (Taylor) Gilley, of Montevideo, died Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at North Memorial Health in Robbinsdale, Minnesota at the age of 77.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Warehouse at Topper’s Bar and Grill in Montevideo on Saturday, November 11 from 1-4pm for Dee, and her husband James Gilley who died on September 21, 2023.

Dee was born October 28, 1942 to Viola (Allen) and Harold Taylor.  She graduated from Plankinton High School in Plankinton, SD.  Dee was united in marriage with James Gilley October 31, 1964 in Brookings, SD.  They made their home in Montevideo where Dee was an office manager for Farmers Home Administration.  She enjoyed collecting antiques, painting ceramic figurines, traveling to locations such as Ireland and Greece, gardening, watching Minnesota Vikings games, and going to the Renaissance Festival.  She loved having dinner with friends and was a proud grandparent.

She is survived by two children: Lisa (Mike) Dupere of Montevideo and Shannon (Katy) Gilley of Rosemount; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother Allen.
