DeLaine Lundy, of Dawson, died Sunday, April 15, 2012, at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson, at the age of 86.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd. Rev. Lori Wold will officiate and interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens, rural Montevideo.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-7:00 PM at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson and at the church for one hour before services on Thursday.
DeLaine Virginia (Quenemoen) Lundy was born April 6, 1926 in Cerro Gordo Township, Lac qui Parle County, MN the daughter of Oscar and Julia (Krugerud) Quenemoen. She was baptized and confirmed at Lac qui Parle Lutheran Church and attended rural school. DeLaine worked at Sears in Minneapolis for a short time. She was united in marriage with Lloyd Lundy March 18, 1944 at Dawson, MN by Pastor Wee. They made their home and farmed in the Dawson - Boyd area until they retired in 1986 and moved into Dawson. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Women’s Trinity Organization. DeLaine enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, crocheting and gardening.
She is survived by five children: Ron (Lindy) Lundy of Stanchfield, MN, Denny (Cindy) Lundy of Cottonwood, MN, Brad (Vicki) Lundy of Dawson, MN, Bev Watterud of Sartell, MN and Bryon Lundy of Boyd, MN; fifteen grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lloyd March 5, 2003; five brothers: Martin, Henry, Russell, Omer, and Lester Quenemoen; five sisters: Rhoda Velekson, Mabel Gruchow, Josie Lindquist; Juella Johnson, and Glenda Dvergsten.
