Della Lynne, 79, of Montevideo, died Wednesday, August 22, 2001 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2001 at 2:30 P.M. at Jevnaker Lutheran Church, rural Montevideo. Rev. Gregory Gabriel will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo.
Visitation will be held Friday, afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M.
Della May (Dew) Lynne was born on Division Street in Montevideo on March 5, 1922 the daughter of Arthur and Vienna (Simons) Dew. She was baptized at Our Saviors Lutheran Church and confirmed at the United Methodist Church, both in Montevideo. Della graduated from Montevideo High School in 1941. She was united in marriage with Palmer O. Lynne on May 31, 1942 at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo. They farmed north of Montevideo in Mandt Township and attended Jevnaker Lutheran Church. In 1950, the moved south of Montevideo to farm and attended Bergen Lutheran Church where she was active in teaching Sunday School and in Ladies Aid. In 1953, they returned to the family farm north of Montevideo and once again became active in Jevnaker Lutheran Church teaching Sunday School and active in Ladies Aid and Homemakers. Della worked for many years at Luther Haven Nursing Home as well as at S & L Department Store. She has been a resident of Luther Haven Nursing Home since 1992.
She is survived by five children: Kathy Knoshal and her husband Dale of Montevideo, MN, Bruce Lynne of Lincoln, NE, Marsha Walstrom and her husband Steve of Montevideo, MN, Steven Lynne and his wife Sachiko of Grandy NC, and Scott Lynne and his wife June of Montevideo, MN; eight grandchildren: Lon Knoshal, Lance (DeAnne) Knoshal, Shannon and Wendy Walstrom, Jeremy and John Lynne, and Dustin and Krystal Lynne; and five great-grandchildren: Tyler, Cassandra, Kegan, Kayla, and Logan Knoshal.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Palmer in 1994; one son, Wayne in 1989; one grandson, Lane in 1985; one brother, Charles Dew in 1992; and many brothers and sisters-in- law.
